Welcome to the Higher Computing 2nd edition website. This site is designed to support the textbook (called New Higher Computing in its first edition, hence the title of this website) written by John Walsh for Higher Computing, and is freely available for you to access.

Higher Computing 2nd Edition (in full colour throughout) covers the theory content of the two units which comprise the core of Higher Level Computing: Computer Systems and Software Development. This core is comprehensively covered in 9 chapters matching each of the learning outcomes contained within the National Unit Specifications. A with answers version is also available.

The first edition of the New Higher Computing textbook (0 340 78946 8) was designed to match the original arrangements. If you are still using the first edition, click here for a guide to help relate the existing book to the reorganised content in the new arrangements.

The purpose of the site is to provide program files relating to the exercises described and explained in the textbook. The four programming language supported here are:

- TrueBasic
